Summer Shoes

Fabulous shoes to rock, and walk in all summer long.

Whether I am going to hang out at the local bar or the Four Seasons this summer I always make sure that my shoes are comfortable and ready for wherever the day… or night takes me.

In the summer, I generally like to wear shoes with a bit more color, but this summer, neutrals are trending. This year in my arsenal of shoes I am adding a few more neutral options with outfits for a more monochromatic look.

The following shoes are in no particular order and can be styled in any number of ways so get creative with how you style your shoes.

Starting with my all time favorite sneaker, the Sam Edelman Poppy Metallic Leather Lace-Up Sneakers. These sneakers are both classy and comfortable which is why they are probably my most worn sneakers. I love to style them with dress both short and long as well as with jeans and a t-shirt.

Next on my summer shoes list comes from the BEST collaboration that Dillard’s has ever seen. The Gianni Bini x Jess Southern collection has so many amazing shoe options, but the Claris Satin Bow Dress Sandals in Peony were a winner for me. I am completely obsessed with the color and that bow gives a whole new purpose to stylish footwear. These shoes are a must have for summer 2023!

The Gene Slide Sandals in Raffia from Steve Madden just so happen to be my ultimate beach town shoe. I am obsessed with wearing these for dinners by the beach, or walking around a resort. These sandals are the perfect definition of elevated casual. The gold links on top provide just the right amount of class for a raffia sandal that gives a comfortable look. These sandals come in a variety of colors so if you aren’t a casual girl opt for the black color for a more sophisticated look.

When it comes to elegant, but affordable ALDO is where it’s at. These ALDO Rattana Flat Sandals can be found on Amazon for just $38.55. The orange fringe and cord is perfect for summer, specifically for walking in the sand. I tend to be picky when choosing shoes to walk in the sand, because the sand has ruined so many of my nice flats. Since these are cheaper sandals, I don’t mind if they get a little scratched up, but the material is durable and easy to shake sand out of.

Regardless of seasonal trends a good pair of white platform sneakers is always a must. Now, I love these Alex Marie Wrenna Pearl Embellished Leather Platform Sneakers specifically because they have the most delicate touch of elegance with pearl embellishments on what would be the holes for laces. These sneakers are perfect to wear with a dress when sightseeing in Europe because of their sleek elegance and comfort when walking.

The Dolce Vita Pailey Braided Sandals are probably one of my most worn heels. I am a huge fan of mule heels because I love how easy they are to put on and that my ankle isn’t being strangled by a strap. I have these heels in a number of colors including white, black, tan, and pink of course. These heels are one hundred percent so comfortable and the thick heel is amazing if you are not a heel pro.

Another amazing shoe from the Gianni Bini x Jess Southern collab. The Ashley Bead Detail Ankle Wrap Sandals in Flamingo are the cutest twist on a traditional roman sandal. The laces are very comfortable and can be tied up a variety of ways. I love the look and feel of these shoes and I am a sucker for anything pink. The only thing to be weary of with these shoes is because the traps are so silky smooth they don’t stay up if you tie them on your leg as shown in the photo.

Okay so these are the most expensive shoes on my list and I only included them in this list because they are so similar to an absolute favorite shoe of mine from Michael Kors that is discontinued. So in honor of those glorious denim wedges here are a close second. The Prada Linen Espadrille Wedge Sandal, though they are expensive they are super cute. Denim wedges are perfect for summer and can be paired with more denim or a cute dress.

The Dolce Vita Elora Heeled Sandal, yet another great shoe from one of my top shoe brands. Dolce Vita makes durable shoes that help you illustrate your personality through footwear. If you are anything like me you love a good mule because it’s easy to slip on and off, basically mules are a lazy girl’s best friend. The braided raffia is a staple for summer, you will see a lot of styles similar to this every summer, so invest in a good pair that can carry you from summer to summer.

Looking for a simple solid flat to walk around in? The Steve Madden Sandra Slide Sandals in Leather are perfect for those who are not into wearing heels or wedges. A simple flat sandal can go a long way towards achieving an elegant and classy look even with the molt casual of outfits. I am paring these sandals with several dresses both short and long this summer as well as jean and shorts outfits. I also plan on packing these for my upcoming trip to Spain this summer.

Two words for you, Gianni. Bini. I mean come on someone give this man an award already for designing the cutest and most comfortable shoes ever. The Leena Corded Knot Platform Wedge Sandals are everything and in two different colors, one for the neutrals girly and another for the loud colors girly. I am just obsessed with the knotted cord on the top and layered cord colors all the way around. I’m just trying to decide which color I am going to be wearing more!

Great platform sneakers to pair with a cute summer dress are always in my closet and suitcase when I travel. My Superga 2790 Lamew Trainers in Gold are a go-to for any outfit. Since I mostly wear gold jewelry the shoe ties in nicely with most outfits. I love these sneakers because the platforms are so high and make me feel like I’m not a 5’3″ short queen. These shoes are perfect for sightseeing and walking around, because the material is canvas I would not recommend wearing them in the rain.
